The Source. Popular 19th century publications. Between 1860 and 1900. American illustrators and engravers collaborated to produce some of the finest work in the 400-year engraving tradition. High speed cylinder presses, for the first time, were able to transfer the finest lines and full range of shading from the original to the print. This meant that the best works reached a mass audience. To the contemporary eye, engraving reproductions appear as an antique, hand-crafted folk art with its own distinctive look and feel. They are a pleasure to behold. The line work is accomplished -- bright, crisp, precise. Textures and lighting come through with a striking directness. Engraving reproductions bring the past back to life. These 19th century pictures make us aware of how things have changed over the past 100 years. These reproductions are available either black & white or colored. Most customers prefer colored reproductions. Prints are packed in clear envelopes with mat back. Average overall sizes (inclluding mat) are: 9" x 12", 11" x 14", 12" x 16". The small size is the most popular.Retail Price: Small Size $10/ea, Medium Size $14/ea, Large Size $16/ea.
